30 What’s your favorite tree?

Maple. I miss their bright color in the fall. And I miss maple syrup! (I know it exists here, but in small expensive bottles; I miss its abundance and ordinariness.)

Did you have maple sugar maple leaf candies when you were young? (Or is that an East Coast thing?)

I don't know if they're just an East Coast thing, but I've never had them. I bet I'd like them though. :)

We had maples behind my house growing up. They always had the most beautiful fall leaves!

Everything here is just orangey-yellow, so boring, and every year I'm like "where's my red maples?" (And "where's my purple sumac.")

Yeah. :/ Nothing changes here (desert). I miss my midwestern color-fest! Or the distant memories I have of the East Coast...

Gosh, I wish maple syrup was ordinary here! Says the person who spent nearly £4 on a sachet of it at the weekend...

It's just criminal how it's treated like a special gourmet ingredient here. I just want something I can slather on pancakes and french toast! "Gourmet" is a long way from "slather." :)
