"There is a vaccine." I can't wait. I hate needles and I still can't wait!

I'm paying next to no attention to the lockdown rules, because I've never trusted them to keep us safe. Even as some of my friends get on public transport and go to pubs and get haircuts and stuff, I won't do any of those things until a vaccine is ubiquitous.

I lectured the employee behind the market counter at a new-to-me Middle Eastern store yesterday about how to make his mask fit securely. He said "I don't really believe it, I just wear it for the customers". I was looking for lamb and baklava and hummus, and the market I used to go to for that has been shunned for being very anti-semitic and anti-black. As in, their second location was shutdown by the landlords of the space, and quite a few stores pulled their products immediately when the scandal broke.
I haven't had major anxiety attacks in years, but going to any store is making it more and more likely I will have one soon.

There's so much going on at once, my anxiety has been so high lately. Sympathy.

"There's a vaccine, and it works." That would be the best thing to hear, and then, after that, how soon it can be distributed.

Yes, exactly. Andrew and I talked about that this morning (after he read my blog post); he as a high-risk person is likely to have a vaccine soon after Christmas, and everybody, including me, around us should have one by Easter. I think it's supposed to be a bit earlier in the U.S., which is great, but distribution is the issue, especially if people are going to be expected to pay for it, grrr.

I simply don't understand the logic that if the government says it's ok, despite medical evidence, the doctors must be wrong... =(

I don't trust the rules either. It's all more about political point scoring than about what's the best and most safe thing. No haircuts or pub-going here either. ;)
