I only realized this evening that one of the implications of applying for jobs as Cosmo and planning to stick to one set of pronouns for simplicity's sake and figuring he/him is best is that it means I have to figure out how boys dress for job interviews because all the clothes I'm used to wearing to that are really girly.

I've got a plan now, I don't need advice. I just thought it was funny that I've given myself so many things to think about for this job interview that are not directly related to the interview.

The interview isn't for anything trans-specific or even LGBT, so I'm taking it as a good sign that all the emails I've had about it are addressed to Cosmo. That's the name I'm signing mine with and the one I said I'm using on the application (I included both it and Holly but said I'm going by Cosmo. But my emails still say they're coming from Holly Lastname, because I can't change that without outing myself to my parents. And considering how many times I've gotten emails addressed to Hollie when they said Holly everywhere, this seems like a big fucking deal that they're calling me by a completely different name just because I say so, and I'm taking it as a good sign.

Okay my answer to whether you should call me he got long so tl;dr is "any pronouns are still fine."

The way this pronoun conundrum seems to be shaking out for me is I truly continue to not feel any more attached to any pronouns than any others when it's people I know. But I like it when strangers think I'm he. And I think it'd be easier to have an actual pronoun rather than this confusing answer when I'm dealing with people I might end up working for and recently I seem to have settled on he as "the most definite not-a-girl" pronoun, if that makes any sense.

I find that I am the absolute worst for pronouns, so when people have "any" or multiple I try to use their most "neo"pronoun in order to train myself.

But I'm probably just going to randomise between he/she/they for you whenever I'm dooing it consciously.

I frequently end up being called (extremely inappropriately) "Lady" in email replies a lot because spellchecks don't recognise my name as a word. I was wondering if you ever get "corrected" to Comiso the town/airport in Italy? Or Cosimo like the famous member of the Medici family?

That's so good that people are using the right name without being told and ignoring email address confusion over that. I think there is increasing awareness that names and pronouns matter in the more enlightened and even "would like to pretend to be more enlightened" workplaces.

Good luck with finding clothes and actually doing the interview. Sounds like an interesting job!

I've only done this a few times so no misspellings or misguided attempts at correction yet. I knew about the name Cosimo (it's where we get the English name Cosmo from, some Scottish dude named his kid Cosmo because he was friends with Cosimo de Medici) but I didn't know Cosimo was a place!

I think a button-down shirt and slacks is fine for any gender unless it's a really formal interview.
