The nicest thing happened today: a parcel turned up for me that contained a bowl that was blue on the inside, and white with colored dots on the outside. It isn't the same as the one I broke -- it's better, because it's made of melamine and more difficult to break!

But it's also better because while the other bowl was just a nice practical thing to have around, this is that and also a reminder that nice things can happen even as I sit around moping about how not enough nice things happen to me. For that, especially, I am grateful to the person who got it for me.

Edit: It was wildeabandon (and I'm lucky that I had to be asked for my address or I'd never have known; I'm sure large online retailers used to actually include the gift notes but they don't seem to any more; I still remember Stuart calling me confuesdly to ask if I'd sent him the Captain Scarlet DVDs for his birthday and I wasn't even the first person he'd asked (but I got to be the last as I had indeed sent them, with an affectionate message carefully crafted by Andrew who actually ordered them for me, heh).

Anyway, wildeabandon also told me he'd ordered a pair but Amazon had sent them separately, so not to oworry when I got another one tomorrow that one would appear every day until I was in a mops-and-buckets-in-Fantasia situation. I will just have a lovely pair again, how nice.
