Here's a story about how bad I am at astrology.
This morning
diffrentcolours told me about one of those memes where the first letter of your name is one element and your star sign is another. This was to find out what we'd be doing at Glastonbury. His was something about portaloos and Billie Eilish.
So I asked what mine would be and when he asked my sign I was like ...oh, shit, what's it called and nearly said "the horsey!" but wait there's not a horse, and then I couldn't remember the word "goat" so was trying to think of how to describe a goat and the only thing I could think of was "not a sheep."
Apparently I'm more of a Sagittarius anyway.

Date: 2020-06-28 10:40 pm (UTC)(literally the only reason I know the zodiac signs is that for a while part of my job was telling people about what constellations were visible. Sagittarius is my favorite zodiacal constellation, but Orion is right by Taurus and is probably favorite constellation in general, so...)

And Orion is a great choice for favorite constellation. :)

Date: 2020-06-29 07:39 am (UTC)I was once told, by a friend who was/is deeply into astrology, that I was a typically sceptical Sagittarius (which I've always thought was a wonderfully unanswerable response).

Date: 2020-07-01 06:38 am (UTC)I'm awfully skeptical about astrology too so many that's why I've been told I'm a Sagittarius. :)

b) It literally has "aqua" in the name but is an air sign.
It is super interesting how much we internalise all these things as being "like us" even though we're enlightened 21st century materialists.

Date: 2020-07-01 02:53 am (UTC)I used to calculate astrological natal charts so I know there’s no horse, but I’m used to translating for people who struggle with nouns (mostly myself, some family members) and my weird brain files symbols similarly to how you do.
(It helps that there are only 3 quasi-hooved species in the zodiac. I suppose you could have meant the lion but horse is not as similar to lion as it is to goat or ram, even if capricorn is a sea goat and has a tail making it less horse like.) Anyway, the images for Capricorn usually focus on the head, and its head is the most horse-like of the options. :)
