Nice to see someone else having the same (except with greater detail and eloquence) thoughts that I did about being non-binary and watching last week's episode of The Good Place.

That not correcting someone when they fundamentally misunderstand your whole jam is coded as “bad” while a friendly, firm and sometimes frustrated assertion of one’s own identity is coded as — well, not good exactly. Janet isn’t a Good Janet anymore. Jason calls her Real Janet. She’s been through too much ambiguity to be, simply, a Good Janet.

Also today I had lush veggie poutine for lunch, with a milkshake for dessert with mint, Thai basil and baobab, which I wasn't sure would work but it was delicious, if maybe more ideally suited to a sunny summer day than rainy Manchester in October.

I also realized that the yarn I was tidying up yesterday was matching pink and blue DK so I've determined I'll knit a trans flag hoodie.

Well so far I started one sleeve and had to tear it apart and only got around to casting on again, so it's quite a long way away yet if it happens at all. :) I'm not a very accomplished knitter and even this easy pattern might be beyond me, but we'll see!

I find that taking on a project is the only way for me to find out if I'm able. And quite often, I surprise myself by becoming more skilled with the practice and challenge. I hope that is the case for you and I get to see a sweater some day :)

I caught that right away when watching the episode. I didn't make the connection Jason did of Janet being impersonated by someone else, but I was like "Hey, wait a sec, she didn't say "not a girl". Something is off here." I liked the way they did that.
