Today I went on a nice walk in the country. But it was muddy and I slipped and fell. I reflexively stuck my hand out to break my fall and my hand ended up in a patch of nettles.

It hurt a lot. My hand blistered up, it stung like mad, I couldn't move it without the skin moving and hurting, I couldn't touch anything.

I finished the walk, had some paracetamol and anti-histamine and sat around feeling sorry for myself. I wanted to go home and curl up on my own bed but instead Stuart gave me hugs and chocolate and I went to the sing-through that's the centerpiece of this weekend. I can now move my hand and hold things in it, but I can tell the paracetamol is wearing off because my hand is very stingy again.

Ouch, stinging nettles are the worst. Have you got any nettle patches near where you are right now that there might be some dock leaves growing to help ease the sting?

Oh ouch no!

Yeuch to nettles, fucking stingy fucking things...

Hope you were able to take more paracetamol. At risky of hlepiness ibuprofen would probably be good for that sort of pain too.

Glad you managed to stay for sing and hope hand is 100% tomorrow.

Oh no! :(

I got stung by nettles in Sweden, I remember how much it hurt!

[I didn't know they were nettles, they were growing in the ground at a zoo, and I picked them to offer them to some raindeer in a petting zoo... I ended up plunging my hands into a mud puddle with chunks of ice in it, they hurt that badly.]

I hope you get some relief soon.

Ow! Nettles are pretty terrible when you don't specifically want them to help.

Hopefully, things are better and the painkillers are working.
