Slightly miraculously, the sighted guide support went off without a hitch today. I can't believe that went from 0 to Happening in ten days, used to so much more faff even without having to chase DASS up so it happens in the first place.

It only took 45 minutes but it was very tiring. Freshers Week is no kind of time to be on campus. They're everywhere and they're so oblivious they don't even know they're in my way. I literally saw one slam into a pole because they were looking at their phone.

And yesterday my employer L realized he had an appointment today that he'd like my help with. So I met him, got him to it, found out we were ridiculously early (one of those times where you think the appointment was twenty to the hour and it was twenty past, and we'd turned up more than an hour earlier than we thought it was because we alloted time for more getting lost and more expectation that they'd struggle to make it accessible than it turns out we actually needed ) and so I had the kind of afternoon where I'm not doing a lot but I'm still working. L was stressed (reasonably so) and I ended up more stressed than I realized until I finally got him home. I did six hours' work today, a lot more than usual, especially when this is supposed to be my day off!

I was tired and cold by the time I got home and wanted to go to bed even though it was 7:30. I'm glad [personal profile] mother_bones and [personal profile] diffrentcolours were going to the Night Market because it tempted me out of the house when otherwise I'd have been too spoonless to go. I saw some other friends, was told for the second time in a month "that's why you should be on IRC!", had a burrito and a beer. About the best ending I could get to this day.

Two first cousins once removed are freshers this week, but they are unlikely to be in your way as they are at other (also northern) universities 5o you. I don't think they would be oblivious to poles, but you never know.
