I've mostly had an extemely stressful and miserable day for reasons I both shouldn't and don't want to go into. It's ended a lot better than it started, though: I had dinner at an Italian restaurant, sitting outside with a big group of friends and their friends. I had delicious gnocchi and a wonderful chocolate and hazelnut torte for dessert.

Introducing friends to each other, watching two classicists bond over the miniseries they now think should be written about the Year of the Four Emperors, laughing at all the people with orange diamonds in their names on Grindr, imagining what a wedding at Conference would be like... it was the kind of thing Lib Dem conference should be and mine hadn't been so far.

It did end well! I definitely didn't have a stressful a day as you did, but mine was still quite trying, and dinner was a great tonic.

P.S. you probably meant to say that we bonded over our planned Four Emperors miniseries, but actually boned isn't far off either!

Don't worry, I knew what you meant and guessed it was a phone post. Hope you are safely back at Dave's Mum's by now

That sounds like a fantastic bit of conference; sorry it took so much grimness to get there. I would absolutely love a miniseries about the Year of the Four Emperors, and dammit now I want chocolate and hazelnut torte!

I have been to a wedding (my mum's to Mick) that had such a high proportion of LibDem guests that Mick's sister, acting as MC, said it was almost like being at conference.

Sympathies on the stressful day - I'm glad there was something so positive to end the day. :D

Thanks! ^_^

Do you know what the people with red roses next to their username on twitter mean?

If they're British, probably it means they're Labour Party members or supporters.

Ah, that makes sense, thank you!

It seemed to be some sort of left, but I wasn't sure if it meant

socialist

communist

trade union

or what...
