Both B's of our B&B were absolutely lovely. We didn't get the room
diffrentcolours had booked but we got one with a four-poster bed that had a white lacy canopy. And the breakfast today was so tasty and so voluminous that I haven't even thought about food the rest of the day (I have eaten a bit of food, a sandwich and some M&Ms, but more out of a vague sense that some food would be a good idea than out of actual hunger). I can recommend the Greylands Guesthouse if you're ever in Llandrindod Wells.
And I can recommend Llandrindod Wells, really. Lots of excellent food, good pubs (I'm sad that we ended up being too tired to try some we'd been recommended last night) if you like real ale, everyone seems to have a dog, and the town itself is pretty. Just before we had to leave we took a little look around the "Rock Park & Spa" that was just near the by-election HQ: the remnant of what got the town the "Wells" in its name. The spa is now a tea room but even in the 1950s people could "take the cure" there on the NHS. The explanatory information we read in the park also included historical praise for the healthful air of the area and it certainly still seemed good for me now. I was sad we had to leave today. (And not just because I need a weekend to recover from this weekend.)
