Jul. 27th, 2019 08:37 pmOne of the farmers we talked to, when she found out we were here from Manchester for the second weekend out of the last three, shook her head and said "You must be crazy. There must be better things to do." We couldn't argue. But still, getting a Tory out of parliament in a time of such a wafer-thin majority seems like a worthwhile use of a weekend.

Date: 2019-07-28 07:55 am (UTC)Sheffield won't take a seat off the Tories but it'll take one from someone who hasn't been able to vote a lot, and more votes against Brexit and the other terrible things are better than abstentions. Plus Sheffield is much easier to get to and the Lib Dems have a good candidate there so it's definitely a by-election I'd like to help out with if it happens (i.e. if it doesn't get subsumed into a general election).
