[188/365] Blind and The Light

Saw the Spiderfilm tonight, but more importantly I learned that The Light is a mostly good cinema but with a weird approach to audio description -- I was given a headset for people who benefit from having the regular audio amplified, not the one with the AD track on it -- and clearly most of the staff were completely unaware that these things existed so couldn't understand the request or my attempt to explain when the problem cropped up. But at least someone competent could be found to get me a receiver on the correct channel (you can't just switch between the channels like at Cineworld! have to go find someone and explain enough that they go find someone who knows what you're talking about), and this person made sure I was back in the cinema and the headset worked before she left me.

Also apparently there's going to be a Bruce Springsteen movie?! (Not about him Rocketman style, but about his music.) I saw posters for it. So there's a thing for me and Stuart to go see. It's called Blinded by the Light* and I just find that so funny because I've just been talking about what it's like to be blind and go to a cinema called The Light.

* they should've kept the much better name of the book it's based on, by a Pakistani immigrant to a part of Luton called Bury Park who called it Greetings from Bury Park but I suppose the punny name wouldn't make sense to less Springsteen-obsessive people.

I've seen it, and it's quite good. (I am not a Springsteen fanatic but I think it speaks well for the film that I could really feel the joy of discovery and sense of connection to the music even though the music has only been peripheral for me IRL.)
