Busy day! But good. I did laundry, tidied up a bit, took advantage of having woken up early by taking the dog for a lovely long walk of the kind I don't usually have time or patience for. The early morning weather was beautiful, clear and sunny. But then I ruined it by hanging the laundry outside at lunchtime: as soon as I did, the grey clouds rolled in and it rained some this afternoon.

And I helped put together some flat-pack furniture, though as is the way with these things it's only half done and some bits are missing and things that fit together fine the first time didn't after we had to take it apart and put it back together.

Having kept a livejournal->dreamwidth (very on and off) for about 16 years at this stage, one thing I can attest to is: entries you think of as boring now could be fascinating to "future you" in retrospect.

I recently had cause to dig around in my journal entries from ~2003 yesterday and reading back the (then) boring details of the end of my degree revealed just how much I've forgotten about that time, how I felt about my exams, casual references to people I've since entirely forgotten.. I must admit I got lost down the "old journal entry" mine for ages once I started.

I wish I could still motivate myself to record in that level of detail!
