I remember realising (in the Nineties) that there was no acceptable term for the first decade of a century. I am quite pleased we are now heading into what will presumably be the teens but won't be completely comfortable until we get to the Twenties.
I've started noticing end-of-a-decade programmes and lists and it's come as a slight surprise to realise it's just about to happen. I remember being more excited by the end of the nineties and feel like more things happened during that decade. I'm not sure if it's that "the Internets ate my life" or whether I changed so much during the 90s (aged 10-20) and changes have been subtler during this decade (20-30).
