Yesterday I got an e-mail inviting me to an interview for the job I applied for, and my first thought, honestly, was "great, one more fucking thing."

That's the same thought I had about the last one. It is so inconvenient having depression, it really is.

Yeah I was honestly surprised to get an interview this time (as was the friend I talked to about it today, so it's not like just impostor syndrome or something!) because while it's for a thing I've done in general, the job is to do that with young people specifically and I have no direct experience of that. So I'm still not expecting great things, but it's one of those "will be great if I get it and totally expected if I don't" kind of things. Which should help sjtfhe anxiety anyway.

I've definitely found it useful to positively reassure employers that, yes, I can deal with taking instructions from people who are both younger and less experienced than I am, that I know that's what I'm letting myself in for.

(I'm guessing the younger people aren't colleagues in this context but I figured I may as well mention anyway!)

Yes, the younger people are the targets of the programme rather than the colleagues. My concern is more that they will easily be able to find interview candidates that have experience specifically working with young people, which I do not.

That makes sense. Maybe the opportunity to expand yourself in that way could be part of what attracts you to the position! Good luck.
