Big day! I walked to L and J's, went on a tram with J to buy cheese and look at books (replicating an outing of his own where he'd ordered an out-of-print book from a local bookshop and on the way to collect was apparently so physically drawn to a cheesemonger that the PA who was with him at the time said "So we're going there on the way back?"

We replicated that today, and we bought cheese but not books. It was fun, but kinda tiring. All the more so because I hadn't eaten lunch, it was already mid-afternoon. And a tangled up train of thought led me to walk home rather than go a different way toward the bus...though it turned out I couldn't have gotten the bus today anyway because there's a strike.

So I was pretty tired by the time I got back! And I'd somehow tweaked my ankle just in the process of trying to use it to walk. I drank a lot of water, [personal profile] mother_bones brought me a sandwich and crisps, and I had some ibuprofen for the ankle.

And then, after I'd biked to Gary's vet to pick up his meds yesterday and D was wistful about it -- he was having a migraine postdrome day and there was no question of him being well enough for a bike ride then -- I'd told him we could maybe do one today. So we headed out again! An adventure on a new route which unfortunately didn't go so well for me (I'm so sensitive to the conditions for bike rides, it's depressing). But we ended up in town, had a couple beers, came home as it was getting dark.

Threw some pizzas from the freezer into the oven. Took Gary for his longest walk since last summer! Not just on our street, but a loop all the way around the next street too! He looked so happy.

Nice day.

Mucho sympathies on the sensitivity to bike ride conditions, I didn't get out on Weds due to sodding vertigomigraino bollocks.

Hurrah for Gary getting more exciting longer walks!

oh, I’m so very glad you had a nice day.

And days with books and cheese, two of the most excellent things!

Cheesemonger is a truly wonderful word and an excellent place to visit -- what’s your go-to cheese?
