Angry envy

I keep seeing female-presenting people in wide-legged, cropped trousers and envying them so much I am mad at the strangers because I don't have any. They're perfect for me! Why don't I have clothes like that?

Then I remember It's because you haven't been clothes shopping in years, Holly. Because you hate it.

Oh. Yeah. There is that. Not fair. I'll have to tell myself I can justify new clothes soon, before the ones I like go out of style and everything is skintight again.

I relate to this in the see nice clothes know I hate shopping and then would probably never find it fitted me or didn't make me go squick anyway.

I know the feeling of only buying clothes every few years when things that look OK are in style, and then making those last for ages during the periods when there's only crap in the shops.

I was in a major department store today (Myer) and while I was waiting for the lift (next to the children's clothes) I was thinking "Why do the children get all the awesome clothes? Why don't they make these clothes in adults sizes?"

They have clothes for kids that are simultaneously
comfortable
flamboyant
elegant.
