Well this is hardly the point but since I seem so keen on expressing my opinions (sheesh!) today... :)
I rather like that it's "fifty-seven" specifically. It avoids the perils of hyperbole, which desensitizes people to the actual magnitude of some things because you're so used to hearing that a dress is awesome that when you look up at the night sky and think about the universe, the word "awesome" seems out of place. Or when people talk about being "literally embarrassed to death" or whatever, after a while that kind of thing slides in one ear and out the other, and I think this is why "fifty thousand channels" has less impact on me, as a concept, than "fifty-seven." Even though that's, like I said, rather dated now.
