I think Reader's Digest is a good way to sum up a lot of the things I think about the place I grew up. It's nice to be able to think of it that way rather than the more vague "y'know...all that stuff" that was the best descriptive term I could conjure before I re-read Schroedinger's Cat and was struck by this scene, thinking: I'm so lucky I don't even NEED the Reader's Digest for that!
