Oh, I told my parents I need to call a number to "activate" my new debit card for my American bank account, my phone doesn't work here so I asked if I could use one of theirs. Mom said they had gotten plenty of cash in preparation to buy stuff at the fair but they only buy food/drinks (which are very expensive as it is). None of us wanted to spend their money on a t-shirt, so I didn't even very seriously pursue getting one.
They don't need you to be a member to buy stuff; I'm sure they'll quite happily take anybody's money. It's a lot for a t-shirt but this is clearly a fundraiser and it's a cause I'm happy to give a bit of money to. And I think they should've had sizes that fit me, but I didn't get far enough to check.
My parents might've given me grief, that's another thing I didn't want to check. I think not if I'd gotten the "march &..." one, but maybe if I got the one next to it which I was also considering, which had a whole list of things on it "families belong together," "no human is illegal" etc) because it also included "black lives matter" and, at least the last time we talked about it a couple years ago, my parents just Did Not understand BLM at all. (The t-shirt also included a couple other things that go against my parents' beliefs -- "women's rights are human rights" and "love is love" but I don't think they would recognize these as being pro-reproductive rights and pro-same-sex marriage.)
